Courtney and Aaron are one of those couples that when you first meet in person you just know it’s going to be a ridiculously awesome time. That’s exactly how I felt when Melissa and I met in Old Town Alexandria for their engagement session over the summer. I was already looking forward to their wedding at Lansdowne in July, but after finishing up our session the date couldn’t get here fast enough.
We started out at the Indigo Landing Restaurant, which is where Aaron proposed to Courtney. You could tell right away with these two that it was going to be a great session. Between the faces they kept making at each other, a failed attempt at the ‘Dirty Dancing’ jump move and putting ice cream on Courtney, I’m not sure how we managed to find time and be serious enough for some photos, but when it was time to shoot it was hard to ask for a better couple to shoot with (and these two could do some serious dips!)
The four of us had a blast at the session, we got amazing photos and we ended up with one of my favorite weddings of the year. This is one of my favorite shots all year. I just happened to have the camera up to my face as Courtney glanced over her shoulder at us. I love how natural everything about this is.
