After a two-year long distance relationship that only allowed them to spend weekends together while Jacklyn finished her bachelor’s degree at VCU, Matt kept his promise, and at a dinner with friends and family he asked for her hand in marriage. As Jacklyn put it, “Of course I said YES. I loved every moment of it, because I wasn’t expecting it and it was in the presence of the ones I love. I was on cloud nine after that and got to plan the wedding of my dreams.”
Jacklyn got her dream wedding this September; they could not have picked a more beautiful day if they tried. After exchanging vows at All Saints in Manassas, we headed over to the Manassas Battlefield and were able to take full advantage of Mother Nature’s gift. Once finished there we took off to the Waterford in Fair Oaks for the reception.
For anyone not in attendance that night, well, you missed one helluva party. From the toasts by the best man and maid of honor, Jacklyn posing for Matt’s camera phone during intros, the packed dance floor, to the aftermath of the bouquet and garter toss, it was a reception to remember. Even if Jacklyn did forget to tell me she was doing a fake toss the first time out…
Jacklyn and Matt, thank you for allowing me to photograph your wedding, and here’s to many decades of happiness!
